Lucknow: A powerful confluence of art, patriotism, and emotion marked the celebrations of Bhoomi Fest 2026 at University of Lucknow on Wednesday, where students created a massive 2,250 square feet rangoli using 50,000 paper cups to honor victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Crafted in the shape of India’s map, the rangoli stood out for its innovative approach. Instead of traditional colors, 50,000 paper cups were meticulously arranged to form a vibrant tricolour design, complete with a finely detailed Ashoka Chakra at its center. The installation covered an expansive 2,250 sq ft area within the university campus, drawing widespread admiration for its scale, precision, and creativity.
More than just a visual spectacle, the artwork carried a deeply emotional message. It was dedicated to the memory of 26 innocent people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror incident. The tribute struck a chord with attendees, who lauded the initiative for its sensitivity and strong expression of national unity.

The ambitious project was conceptualized and led by Aman and Ayush, whose vision guided the entire execution. Key contributors Akhil, Shavi, and Ishika played crucial roles in coordinating the effort, supported by 20 additional team members. Together, the 23-member team worked tirelessly for hours, placing each paper cup with precision to bring the intricate design to life, including the map outline, tricolour detailing, and central Ashoka Chakra.
The rangoli has since become a major highlight of Bhoomi Fest 2026, symbolizing unity, remembrance, and respect. The collective effort of Aman, Ayush, and their team not only showcased exceptional organizational and artistic skills but also delivered a heartfelt message of solidarity with victims of terrorism.
